Pendulum and Alynthia

A Tale of Two Travises

We’ve been going crazy waiting for Stonemaier’s 2020 game release, and you can imagine our surprise when we saw that their new game Pendulum was designed by Travis Jones!

At first it seemed like our own Travis Jones has been doing some secret solo work on the side. It only took a few confused texts to realize that the growing game industry has two designers with the same name.

Unfortunately, the coincidence started causing confusion when our Travis C Jones was tagged as the designer of Pendulum on Board Game Geek instead of the actual designer, Travis P Jones (which has since been corrected). That small misattribution then lead to articles linking our Travis C Jones to Pendulum and our game Alynthia to Travis P Jones.

Of course it was all just a mixup, but we want to make sure the confusion is cleared up from our end. We wish the best to the Travis P Jones and we’re incredibly excited to play Pendulum! The combination of simultaneous turns and real-time mechanics are so impressive, and we want to make sure the right Travis gets all the credit he deserves.
