An ancient dragon has appeared!

We’ve continued to playtest scenarios in our story driven Magic and Mayhem expansion to Alynthia! Our recent playtest focused on a scenario where players are trying to accomplish an objective before the countdown ends and an ancient dragon appears! What are ancient dragons you may ask?

Ancient Dragons

Not all dragons are the same, and ancient dragons are the most evil and powerful dragons to ever invade Alynthia. They are the masterminds behind the invasion of Alynthia and also each have a special ability. We’ve been working on the ancient dragon mechanics and have recently made some exciting advancements in how ancient dragons move around.

Essentially we’re experimenting with ancient dragons having preset numbered location markers, that allow the dragons to move either randomly or in a preset order based on the scenario. Suffice it to say though, you don’t want to get into a battle with an ancient dragon if you can avoid it! We’re developing powerful unique abilities for each ancient dragon that will make them really tough to beat.

Playtesting on Tabletopia again

We’re back to testing out Alynthia on Tabletopia, and though this version is still very rough it’s still such a great tool for trying new things! It’s so nice to be able to quickly add or change components without needing to print and cut out new pieces. It’s not replacement for real life testing, but is still very useful!

The other benefit of online playtesting is the ability to setup test sessions with players across the country. If you’re not on our email list, make sure you sign up at the bottom of this page. We’re planning to send out a request for play testers in the future to our email list, so make sure you’re the first to hear if you’re interested.

Keep having fun!
